These past weeks in Trang have been full, stretching, and deeply encouraging, and I wanted to take some time to share what has been happening here. For anyone following our journey, thank you for taking the time to read and pray with us.
Over the last month and a half, our team has had the privilege of partnering with a Titus team from YWAM Montana. Together, we visited around nine small churches throughout Trang and the nearby communities. These congregations are small and spread out, but it was powerful to see how encouraged they were as we taught, discipled, prayed, and worshiped together. One of the greatest blessings of this season was watching unity grow between the different churches in our city. Seeing believers from different backgrounds come together and build up the body reminded us of the beauty and strength of the Church when it moves as one.
During this same time, Southern Thailand has been dealing with intense weather. Trang has stayed mostly safe since our city sits a little higher, but the surrounding provinces have faced devastating floods. Hat Yai, just a few hours south of us, was hit especially hard. Entire neighborhoods were submerged. Many of our YWAM friends and local churches lost belongings, motorbikes, and major parts of their homes. Some had to evacuate by boat or wade through chest high water to help neighbors. We were able to send a small team from our base, along with a full truck load of supplies, to help support families and churches who were impacted. Please keep the Hat Yai region in your prayers as families begin the long process of recovery. It has been heartbreaking to see how widespread the damage has been.
On the family front, we are doing well. Elouise is growing fast and enjoying her little trampoline inside the house. We also completed a visa run to Malaysia recently, which went smoothly and gave us a short breather before heading into a very full season ahead.
That full season is coming quickly. Over the next few months, we will be hosting three outreach teams from different parts of the world. I will be the main host, walking with them as they serve our city. While the Titus team focused on discipling believers, these upcoming teams will be out in the neighborhoods, markets, and villages doing evangelism, kids programs, prayer ministry, and practical service. I am genuinely excited to see what God does through these teams as we partner together.
Another area we are especially thankful for is the growing number of schools opening their doors to us. For the next few months, we already have several schools lined up where teams will be teaching English, helping with activities, and building relationships with students and teachers. Many of these kids have never spent time with a Christian before. Our hope is that through simple kindness, consistency, and love, God will plant seeds in their hearts. There is so much potential in the next generation here in Trang, and we are excited to see what God does with these opportunities.
In the middle of all this, God has also been teaching me something very personal. Recently, I have been reflecting on the Book of Hebrews and how sovereign God is with His timing. Hebrews was written to believers in Rome who had no idea what was coming. They were tired, discouraged, and under pressure. Months later, persecution under Nero would erupt across their city. Yet before the fear and before the fire, before the storm ever arrived, God had already placed a word of strength in their hands. He spoke before they knew they even needed it.
That is the beauty of God’s sovereignty. He prepares His people long before they see the battle. Hebrews was not only full of deep theology but also full of grace. It reminded those believers that Jesus is greater than Moses, greater than the old covenant, greater than fear, and greater than the suffering waiting ahead. God anchored their faith in Christ before they walked into the storm. His grace did not remove their hardship, but it made them unshakeable in the midst of it.
The same God strengthens us today. Before we face a trial, He is already speaking. Before we feel weak, He is strengthening our endurance. Before we feel overwhelmed, He is planting truth in our hearts that will carry us when everything else shakes. Just as Hebrews called the early church to run with endurance and hold fast, God calls us to keep our eyes on Jesus and not on fear or uncertainty.
This has been a personal encouragement for us in this season. As we serve in Thailand through storms, transitions, needs, and unknowns, we are learning that God’s grace always goes ahead of us. He is not surprised by anything we walk through. He is not late. He is sovereign, present, and faithful to strengthen us step by step. And because of that, we keep running.
We do have a couple of ongoing prayer needs. We are currently working to raise about 500 dollars more in monthly support. If you feel led to pray, give, or share our need with someone who might partner with us, we would be incredibly grateful. We are also facing a visa transition this year. Our education visa ends in May, so we will need to move to a new type of visa. Please pray for clarity, provision, and the right path forward.
Thank you for reading and for being part of what God is doing in Thailand. Your prayers and encouragement truly carry us.
